Writer: Leah Oketcho

I know I can trust you
You have proved yourself over the years
Or at least I can trust you because a long time ago Mother trusted you

Without even flinching, you hold whatever I need you to
You never tell my secrets at least not out right
When you occasionally give away hints by shape or smell I get concerned
But you always make it up to me

No matter the day, you are always ready to go
You never care what I wear or what I look like
You treat me the same
Embracing all my treasures and holding them tight

A few moons ago I noticed you started to speak
And I heard you
I am listening
I will fix you
Just hold on a little longer
Soon my friend
Oh so soon…

I appreciate you for being faithful in the past
We will see more of the works and the world together
God knows you have so many stories to tell
One day…
One day my bag,
One day I will let you tell them.
